Have you ever wanted to make a backup of your data, but iTunes wasn't around? Then iBye is the application for all your data needs. iBye will backup your data and store that data on a FTP server of your choosing. iBye will restore this data from the backup on that FTP server as well.
If you don't have an FTP server, iBye can do a local backup and restore. Other features include the ability to remove all the data from a desired application or lock the data to prevent deletion.
iBye supports Notes, Mail, Calendar, Photos, Address Book, Safari, and the syslog. iBye's FTP connection supports EDGE, 3G, and WiFi.

biteSMS Update v4.8 – Great Looking Update! #biteSMS #iPhone #iPod #Update

What's New:
- Added Activator support, done nicely of course.
- Added back the delivery prefix feature (removed in Release 4.7) - mostly for UK O2 users. So biteSMS now supports the iPhoneDelivery application and Prefixes.
- When pressing Quick List with only one message pending, Quick Reply will now open, so less touch events.
- In the biteSMS app, the contact pictures now have nice rounded corners.
- Improved the speed of touch events and animations when using Quick Reply and Quick Compose buttons.
- Improved Privacy support in the new Quick Reply.
- You can now tap the Quick List icon when a Quick Reply is displayed - this in effect does a Later action for you.
- For Google “ad clicks” that result in the display of a web page we no longer exit out of biteSMS, but instead render the web page inside biteSMS.
- Fixed up bugs with the “Currently Used” messages counter for messages sent via your mobile carrier.
- Fixed up a bunch of other bugs and inconsistences.
Just to let you know that for the upcoming Apple Firmware 4.0 Release in June, biteSMS will be ready! We have completed most of the work, and are in the final testing stages. So expect a biteSMS release 4.9 very soon!
This should be the best, most stable release of biteSMS yet, so thanks for all your support!!!

As the name suggests, it's meant to allow the lock screen to rotate. For now, it's only confirmed to be compatible with Cydget, Element, Lock Info SmartScreen Lite.

Step by step;
- Download the Spirit jailbreak file here. (available for Mac & PC)
- Connect your device to your Mac/PC via USB
- Open the Spirit file you downloaded
- Run the Jail Break
- After the computer says it’s done, you'll have to wait for the device to actually Jail Break & reboot.

Ok boys and girls. I'm going to make this quick and painless as possible. Let me start with saying that there is absolutely no thought needed these days to jailbreak your beloved iPhone. And apparently the iPad as well.
Previously I had used blackra1n which was the best way to go at the time IMO, but recently after upgrading the operating system of my iPhone 3G to 3.1.3, I decided to use redsn0w 0.9.4 and the tutorial at Redmond Pie to jailbreak it again (definitely no cakewalk compared to blackra1n).
But then comes along the new and fresh jailbreak option called Spirit by @comex, member of the Dev Team. Nicely untethered, so users are not required to plug their device into their computer every time they reboot. Its so simple and quick. I was all prepared to put a little work into getting this thing to take. So I backed up my iPhone via/iTunes, closed iTunes, started the Spirit.exe. It will recognize that your device is connected. Pressed the "Jailbreak" button and my iPhone was jailbroken in no more that 45 seconds (and that's being generous). So if you're looking for easy, simple way to jailbreak you iPhone running 3.1.3, this is it.

Last week we reported on Android on the First Generation iPhone. Team member planetbeing is working on also making it work on the iPhone 3G, but first he shows a video of multitouch working the First Generation iPhone. There is still a major challenge to overcome: making a call and using 3G at the same time.
Saurik (Cydia admin) is also involved in the iBoot project.
Geohot’s New Jailbreak to be Called Limera1n? #Geohot #Jailbreak #Limera1n

The domain whois record for both blackra1n and limera1n shares same record and confirms that it has been registered by geohot on March 27. Whois record also reveals that it was last updated on April 13, almost effectively the same date when geohot successfully jailbroke iPhone OS 4 which makes it even more authentic. Though there is no confirmation about this by geohot himself.
If you head over to the site you will see a raindrop that looks just like the icon for blackra1n but with a lime color to it.
It's unclear if geohot plans to use the limera1n name for the untethered 3.x jailbreaks or for OS 4.0.

Jailbreak iPhone OS 4.0 Beta now available for the public #Jailbreak #iPhone #OS4

It was known that certain people were able to Jailbreak the newest iPhone OS 4.0 Beta not long after it was announcement and released to developers only, but this is the first time they actually make it available to the public. As with the updating to iPhone OS 4.0 Beta you have to have a Mac, you can Jailbreak it using the redsn0w 0.9.5 software. Some will argue it's pointless since the Jailbreak is for Beta 1 -which is a buggy OS- plus many more Beta's will be released between now and the final release, planned for this summer. (I've also read that hackers purposely did not want to release this Jailbreak since it may show Apple where the weaknesses are in this OS)
