HanDBase-Database Solution For Smartphones by @mitchbrevard
Posted by Guest Author @ 3:42 pm in Apple Apps BlackBerry Mac Misc. Palm Pre Windows Windows Mobile iPhone.
Recently introduced to me but one of the oldest mobile app brands out there HanDBase is a seriously impressive database manager. HanDBase is developed by DDH Software. DDH Software creates apps for iPhone, BlackBerry, Palm, Symbian and WinMo devices.
Like I said above I had just recently found out about HanDBase so I went to their site to find out exactly what it is:
"HanDBase is a light and fast relational database manager for desktops, PDAs, and smartphones which offers data entry, searching, sorting, filtering, printing and synchronization across a wide variety of desktop computers, handheld computing devices and smartphones."
There are a lot of personal uses for HanDBase including Shopping Lists, Music & DVD Collections, Project Organizers, Password Manager, Prayer List / Bible Study Notes, To Do Lists, Recipes and Sports Schedules. There are just as many business uses Inventory, Field Surveys, Patient Tracking and Billing, Medical Reference, Project Tracking, Estimates and Time & Billing.
Another really cool feature is the ability for synchronization across multiple smartphone operating systems and also with the desktop. Allowing a business or family that may have countless different devices to stay in sync. Sadly though the only thing they are missing is Android support so hopefully DDH Software is working on that.
The latest build for iPhone (pictured left) includes a new Carbon Fiber theme, new app icon, new security mode to protect specific databases from being accessed via Desktop Connect and New Choose Database file-cabinet screen with collapsing folders Pop Up Bubbles for selecting Views, Popup values, Field and Database actions Databases sorted can now use a right side quick index Run Reports on various field types (with Graphs!) Field Actions Popup: Resize field width, Sort Forward/Reverse, Report and Set Value To Record Action: Set value to- set a field's value for all the records within the current view (great for clearing all checkboxes in a checklist, for example) Scroll fields in the list view by dragging the field name bar right or left Database Actions Popup: Email Database file Switch to and from landscape from almost any screen.
So in closing I would say you should definitely check HanDBase out. DDH Software offers a free trial of HanDBase as well as a nice compatabilty spread sheet. You have nothing to lose.

Found Footage: iPhone/Mouse integration #iPhone-Mouse #Integration
Posted by rudeboy @ 2:14 pm in Apple Mac Misc. iPhone Jailbreak. What happens when you combine two amazing jailbreak utilities on the iPhone? You achieve remote mouse based support! iPhone developer Lance "ashikase" Fetters, author of the amazing Backgrounder jailbreak app, wrote a VNC style extension for the iPhone called MouseSupport. It provides a floating window with a virtual cursor that can be controlled with synthesized pointer events.
A second utility, developed by Matthias Ringwald, is called BTstack Mouse. It integrates with ashikase's MouseSupport and Ringwald's open source BTstack implementation to provide iPhone/mouse integration. The video shown here uses Apple's Magic Mouse to demonstrate the BTstack Mouse extension. BTstack Mouse will shortly be available on Cydia and will retail for free.
So why does this all matter? Who cares about using a mouse with an iPhone when most people have perfectly usable fingers? Where does a mouse fit into the iPhone world? This effort is part of a larger project to create a nomadic computing environment on the iPhone. To put yourself into the right mindset, try thinking of an iPhone as a portable pocket-sized Unix system instead of as a mobile cell phone.
Practical work-ready peripherals that can move as you move, without need for carrying along a laptop, act as an important part of that vision. You can be on the go with just the phone itself -- as you know, a naked iPhone offers a perfectly usable mobile solution for light computing needs -- or you can start accessorizing to upgrade your computing efficiency.
By providing hooks for these accessories, the iPhone opens itself up to better desktop-style computing in addition to its existing mobile tools. In the end, when the vision of this project is fulfilled, you'll be able to move the iPhone between desktop set-ups where it can connect itself into a "dockable" Bluetooth-enabled work system, to your pocket on the go, to a lightly-accessorized system for coffee house use.

ZumoDrive Cloud Storage for iPhone #ZumoDrive #Storage #iPhone #iPod #Free #Windows #Mac #Linux

For those of us looking for an iDisk alternative, Zester has come out with the ZumoDrive. The ZumoDrive is a free service (up to 2GB, you can purchase more) that allows you to store and sync files to the cloud just like Apple’s iDisk. The app has three main sections: Files, Music and Photos.
This is how it works: You install the Zumo client on your PC or Mac. Once installed it can automatically look for your music and photo libraries. You can also add your own files and folders to sync too.
Once your data has synced to the cloud, it is accessible on your iPhone over EDGE, 3G or Wi-Fi. One nice feature I particularly like is when playing music, it displays the album art of your song; this is really a nice touch. Your data is also accessible via a web browser too when the iPhone isn’t enough. To learn more about ZumoDrive, click here.

eWallet 7 Is Now Available! #eWallet #IliumSoft #iPhone #iPod #Windows #BlackBerry #Mac
Posted by rudeboy @ 3:29 pm in BlackBerry Mac Windows Windows Mobile iPhone iPhone Jailbreak iPod Touch iPod Touch Jailbreak.
We are extremely excited to announce that eWallet 7 has just been released. Not only does eWallet 7 include a completely revamped Windows PC version, a working preview of eWallet for Mac, and a host of new features, we’re working to create a new approach to selling mobile software.
For the full story on eWallet 7, read on after the jump…
Software is for People, Not Devices
I love the new features in eWallet 7, but I’m going to start with something that I think is the biggest news. With the release of eWallet 7 we’re reshaping the idea of how people buy mobile software. For years there has been an idea that you buy software for your mobile device. This doesn’t make sense to us. People aren’t buying the software for the device. The software is for the person. That’s why with eWallet 7 we’ve completely re-imagined how you buy the product.
Now, for $19.95, you can use eWallet on any device we support. No extra versions. No extra purchases. When you buy eWallet it’s for you – not your device. This is true even for iPhone users (see the information here for details on how this works for iPhone.)
And for our existing customers, upgrading just got better (and cheaper!) For just $10.00 you can use the latest version of eWallet on your Windows PC, Windows Mobile device, or BlackBerry, and get full access to the Mac Preview.
A New Desktop Version
The next big news is that we’ve rewritten eWallet for Windows PC from the ground up. With eWallet 7, the Windows PC version is easier to use than ever before, offers more options for customization, brings you some great new features, and looks amazing. We even included a way to get the Old School eWallet feel for folks who aren’t ready for a big change!
eWallet for Mac Preview
With eWallet 7 we’re also releasing a special 30 day preview of eWallet for Mac. It doesn’t include everything, but this special preview edition is ready for you to try. We even built a special tool into the iPhone version that lets you manually transfer files from your iPhone to your Mac so you can try it with your own wallets!
And if you’re an owner of the complete eWallet package, use your eWallet registration codes to unlock the Mac Preview for unlimited use!
Image Synching and More…
And that’s not all…eWallet 7 adds a number of other new features as well, including synching for inserted background images. Now, you can create an amazing wallet on your desktop complete with background images and sync it over to your iPhone or Windows Mobile device where you’ll get the same, great looking wallet!
What Do You Need to Do?
We’ll be sending out upgrade notifications over the next week with all the information you need to get eWallet 7. If you purchased within the last 90 days, we’ll upgrade you to the full eWallet package at no charge. If you purchased before that time, it’s just $10.00 to upgrade the entire package.
iPhone customers will get the upgrade to eWallet 7 for free, but please be aware that if you purchased the desktop version more than 90 days ago, you will need to pay for the upgrade if you wish to use the eWallet 7 Windows PC version.
And if you use the iPhone and DON’T WANT TO UPGRADE your desktop software, we have a special version of eWallet 6 that you can use. Read all about it here!
