Outlook for WM6.1 Updated #Outlook #WM6.1 #Update

Posted by n99hockey @ 2:03 pm in News Windows Mobile.

So perhaps for the time being Microsoft isn't turning it's back on WM6.x users (or at least just yet!).

WMExperts is reporting that Microsoft just announced it will be updating Outlook for WM6.1 devices, the purpose of the update is so that older devices, ie; Palm 750, Palm 800w, Treo Pro; HTC Diamond, Mogul, etc. will be compatable with Exchange Server 2010.

Some of features that are to be included in this is 'Threaded email with Exchange, sync SMS messages, calendar lookup and enhanced voicemail (via Exchange).

There is no word yet on how to obtain just a .cab file (for those who don't use exchange or who's host isn't upgrading to Exchange 2010, but stay tuned to TotalSmartPhone.net to find out how!

TCMP Windows Mobile Video Player Skin #TCMP #XDA #Video #Windowsmobile

Posted by ParaCAD @ 9:56 pm in Apps Misc. Windows Mobile.

I used this player when i had my Motorola Q9h. From the image below it looks like there have been some crazy improvements. Check out the info from XDA-Developers:
---
TCPMP is one of the many different Windows Mobile video players that are freely available to us. The application has been the best way to watch high resolution videos and multiple video formats for years.

But the application never looked as nice as it does now. This new theme has been available for the Omnia users for some time now, and it was recently ported to WVGA so that we can enjoy it as well. Netdrg modified the Omnia file to fit the WVGA screen of the HD2 device and other WVGA devices.

HanDBase-Database Solution For Smartphones by @mitchbrevard

Posted by Guest Author @ 3:42 pm in Apple Apps BlackBerry Mac Misc. Palm Pre Windows Windows Mobile iPhone.

Recently introduced to me but one of the oldest mobile app brands out there HanDBase is a seriously impressive database manager. HanDBase is developed by DDH Software. DDH Software creates apps for iPhone, BlackBerry, Palm, Symbian and WinMo devices.

Like I said above I had just recently found out about HanDBase so I went to their site to find out exactly what it is:

"HanDBase is a light and fast relational database manager for desktops, PDAs, and smartphones which offers data entry, searching, sorting, filtering, printing and synchronization across a wide variety of desktop computers, handheld computing devices and smartphones."

There are a lot of personal uses for HanDBase including Shopping Lists, Music & DVD Collections, Project Organizers, Password Manager, Prayer List / Bible Study Notes, To Do Lists, Recipes and Sports Schedules. There are just as many business uses Inventory, Field Surveys, Patient Tracking and Billing, Medical Reference, Project Tracking, Estimates and Time & Billing.

Another really cool feature is the ability for synchronization across multiple smartphone operating systems and also with the desktop. Allowing a business or family that may have countless different devices to stay in sync. Sadly though the only thing they are missing is Android support so hopefully DDH Software is working on that.

The latest build for iPhone (pictured left) includes a new Carbon Fiber theme, new app icon, new security mode to protect specific databases from being accessed via Desktop Connect and New Choose Database file-cabinet screen with collapsing folders Pop Up Bubbles for selecting Views, Popup values, Field and Database actions Databases sorted can now use a right side quick index Run Reports on various field types (with Graphs!) Field Actions Popup: Resize field width, Sort Forward/Reverse, Report and Set Value To Record Action: Set value to- set a field's value for all the records within the current view (great for clearing all checkboxes in a checklist, for example) Scroll fields in the list view by dragging the field name bar right or left Database Actions Popup: Email Database file Switch to and from landscape from almost any screen.

So in closing I would say you should definitely check HanDBase out. DDH Software offers a free trial of HanDBase as well as a nice compatabilty spread sheet. You have nothing to lose.

TetherBerry Is Now Simply Tether & 50% Off by @mitchbrevard

Posted by Guest Author @ 8:03 am in Android Apple Apps BlackBerry Palm Pre Windows Mobile iPhone.

I reviewed TetherBerry (a tethering application that allows you to use your BlackBerry data to surf the net on your PC) back in late November. I gave it glowing remarks for its ease of use and reliability. Well the the folks at TetherBerry decided they no longer wanted to be pigeon holed as just a BlackBerry application so to support their new development plans of creating tethering apps for WinMo, iPhone and Android devices they have dropped the Berry in their name and are now simply Tether.

Our major changes are:
- TetherBerry is now called Tether.  We've secured the domain name Tether.com and all future updates will be available on this website.
- We've updated our website.  Their maybe some kinks here and there, but definitely a lot cleaner.
- Beta testing for an Android Client has begun and we plan to develop for more Smartphones.
- Tether now has Bluetooth capabilities.
- BlackBerry AppWorld has accepted Tether into their marketplace.
- If you are not an existing customer, we've reset your trial so you can try our new version.
- The new Tether interface is easier to use and is faster.
- 50% off from now until January 10th, 2010.

With more than 60,000 downloads in less than 9 months (TetherBerry was launched in March or 09) of their application for BlackBerry I do not think they will have much trouble creating a following with the rest of the smartphone families. They are currently beta testing their Android version so I would not expect a long wait until it is released to the public. So to stay current on all of Tether's latest news be sure to follow them on Twitter and become a fan on Facebook.

eWallet 7 Is Now Available! #eWallet #IliumSoft #iPhone #iPod #Windows #BlackBerry #Mac

Posted by rudeboy @ 3:29 pm in BlackBerry Mac Windows Windows Mobile iPhone iPhone Jailbreak iPod Touch iPod Touch Jailbreak.

ewalletWe are extremely excited to announce that eWallet 7 has just been released. Not only does eWallet 7 include a completely revamped Windows PC version, a working preview of eWallet for Mac, and a host of new features, we’re working to create a new approach to selling mobile software.

For the full story on eWallet 7, read on after the jump…

Software is for People, Not Devices
I love the new features in eWallet 7, but I’m going to start with something that I think is the biggest news. With the release of eWallet 7 we’re reshaping the idea of how people buy mobile software. For years there has been an idea that you buy software for your mobile device. This doesn’t make sense to us. People aren’t buying the software for the device. The software is for the person. That’s why with eWallet 7 we’ve completely re-imagined how you buy the product.

Now, for $19.95, you can use eWallet on any device we support. No extra versions. No extra purchases. When you buy eWallet it’s for you – not your device. This is true even for iPhone users (see the information here for details on how this works for iPhone.)

And for our existing customers, upgrading just got better (and cheaper!) For just $10.00 you can use the latest version of eWallet on your Windows PC, Windows Mobile device, or BlackBerry, and get full access to the Mac Preview.

A New Desktop Version

The next big news is that we’ve rewritten eWallet for Windows PC from the ground up. With eWallet 7, the Windows PC version is easier to use than ever before, offers more options for customization, brings you some great new features, and looks amazing. We even included a way to get the Old School eWallet feel for folks who aren’t ready for a big change!

eWallet for Mac Preview
With eWallet 7 we’re also releasing a special 30 day preview of eWallet for Mac. It doesn’t include everything, but this special preview edition is ready for you to try. We even built a special tool into the iPhone version that lets you manually transfer files from your iPhone to your Mac so you can try it with your own wallets!

And if you’re an owner of the complete eWallet package, use your eWallet registration codes to unlock the Mac Preview for unlimited use!

Image Synching and More…

And that’s not all…eWallet 7 adds a number of other new features as well, including synching for inserted background images. Now, you can create an amazing wallet on your desktop complete with background images and sync it over to your iPhone or Windows Mobile device where you’ll get the same, great looking wallet!

What Do You Need to Do?
We’ll be sending out upgrade notifications over the next week with all the information you need to get eWallet 7. If you purchased within the last 90 days, we’ll upgrade you to the full eWallet package at no charge. If you purchased before that time, it’s just $10.00 to upgrade the entire package.

iPhone customers will get the upgrade to eWallet 7 for free, but please be aware that if you purchased the desktop version more than 90 days ago, you will need to pay for the upgrade if you wish to use the eWallet 7 Windows PC version.

And if you use the iPhone and DON’T WANT TO UPGRADE your desktop software, we have a special version of eWallet 6 that you can use. Read all about it here!

Free Visual Voicemail With Google Voice-Keep Your Number by @mitchbrevard

Posted by Guest Author @ 1:20 am in BlackBerry Misc. Windows Mobile iPhone.

Google-Voice-256Well the great people at Google have decided to give us a little prize to start our week off with. You can now use all the Google Voice voicemail features without getting a new number! Before you get to excited please keep reading. Right now this is not a full number porting feature. What this brings is a replacement for your carriers voicemail similar to Youmail.

New Users
You will still need to receive an invite either from GV or from a friend that might have one laying around. Once you open you account you will choose to use your existing number. Now read that doing this does not give you all the features of GV, this is just a replacement voicemail. In order to get outbound/inbound calling and sms you will still need to get a new GV number.

Current Users
Now for those of us that already have a GV number we get some love. You can consolidate your existing number as well as your GV number in one voicemail box! Simply login in>click settings>mid way down click Activate Google voicemail.

Everybody
Now everyone will need to do the following. You will see a popup that asks you to select your carrier and then it prompts you to dial a number. What this does is sends your unanswered calls to Google voicemail. You will also want to change your speed dial destination number to your Google Voice or mobile phone number. What this does is now allows you to call your Google voicemail.

Please read that not all carriers all free unanswered call forwarding. I know from my experience with Youmail that you need to call your carrier and ask if this is included if you do not know. I also wonder if this is the first or final step into allowing users to fully port their existing number over to GV?
